Yeah, so I was doing Airi Pan's Foolproof Concept Art course lately and this one of the personal projects. I was going for summer day, evening vibe. The point was the process, which to certain point i didn't enjoy very much since it's very different from my own. But when I kinda got it it was very enjojable.
Some details
It actually started as a quick sketch on my ipad, a girl with a flower, I was hoping to make it a summer piece, but it was just waiting for so long that summer was over XD.
So I decided to test it for the project for the course. Yeah, I'm so lazy with the backgrounds and they are not my favourite part. I made a photobash to have something to start from, but I wasn't very happy. But I said, meh, let's finish this and see.
And it was a mistake - it didn't turn out very well. I have a tendency to go warms and yellows waaaay to much. So again, i decided to start over.
This time I did a proper background which was so daunting at first, but it's hard to stop once you start. On the right with shadows and some lights.
I was wondering where to put the girl on the new painting, but she wasn't working for me anymore.
So I put a new girl with a kitty (they are so nice and warm to touch), a bit more realistic style to fit my background and it was so much better. But not quite there yet.
After some additional overlay, color balance and some adjusting layers it was finally finished:D! It turned out pretty much as I wanted. I can feel the sun and I can imagine how warm is the cat. I would like to be there. What do you think? Thanks for being here:D!
