Deep in the heart of the forest, a young girl in red wanders among blooming flowers, chirping birds, and curious woodland creatures. But hidden behind the shadows, a pair of glowing eyes follows her every step… the wolf is waiting.

Details and close ups

Character design wasn't my primary objective here, but I still had fun trying to imagine her - I think she's very cool, smart and a bit sassy. But she has a big heart and loves her granma:).

So here we have the first small value sketch that started the whole idea. Then we have first sketch and final values.

So this is first version of flats and color. And it sucked so bad no matter how I tweaked it ;/. So what else can you do, I decided to start over. I don't know about others, but this happens to me a lot, but it's rarely spoken of. Often the end piece is a result of much try and error - so I'm showing my bad version. You have to trust the process or be ready to start over if something is not working. With this I was ready to throw this away with tears and never look at it again but I took a breath and tried again.

Yeah this one I liked much better.

But it still lacked some detail and life in the forest, so added some birds and other animals and made the wolf a bit more menacing with the red eyes.

I felt I overdid grass a lot and it was kind of meh and flat, so I did some final changes with the environment and added some more warm light. And it's done!:D
